FAQ's

I am new to Jazzercise. Will I be able to keep up with the class?

Jazzercise classes are designed for all fitness levels, from beginning to advanced. All classes are a mixture of newcomers and more experienced Jazzercisers. Modified versions are demonstrated for each routine. During the cardio section, low impact/low intensity versions are demonstrated, as well as high impact/high intensity versions. During the strength training section, modifications are also given. The class is non-competitive. You should work at your own pace, and most importantly, you should have fun!

When/how can I register?

Classes are on-going and non-progressive (i.e. there are no set sessions), so you may register at any time. Come to your first class about 10 minutes early so you will have time to fill out a registration card.

How much does a class cost?

Please view our pricing options here.

Is there a membership fee or contract to sign?

There is a one-time joining fee of $45 if you buy a pass (either EFT or a 2-month pass). This does not apply if you just get a single class. There is no contract to sign. If your pass lapses for more than a month, you will need to pay the joining fee again to reregister.

How often should I exercise?

If you are new to exercise, begin with 2-3 classes a week and gradually add classes. To increase your fitness level, work out 4-5 times per week.

May I bring drinks and food to a class?

We recommend Jazzercisers bring a non-breakable water bottle with a lid to class. Prevent accidents and spillage by keeping drinks out of the way of other Jazzercisers. No food or gum, please.

Do I need weights?

Weights are optional for new customers. We recommend you familiarize yourself with the basic exercises and techniques before using light (3-5lb.) weights. Kristen provides weights ranging from 2 to 8 lbs.

Do I need special clothes or equipment?

Any loose, comfortable clothting is fine. Most people wear bike shorts or jazz pants and a tank top or T-shirt. Jazzercise.com sells workout wear. Catalogs are available in class. Bring along a towel for floor work. Kristen provides exercise mats, or feel free to bring your own. Good, rubber-soled aerobic shoes are recommended. Kristen sells Ryka aerobic shoes, the official shoe of Jazzercise.

I'm having difficulty performing some of the moves.

Kristen will be happy to work with you one-on-one with any specific movement either before or after class. Please don't hesitate to ask for help!

I'm still not sure if Jazzercise is for me.

You are welcome to come and observe a class. Just drop in anytime.

I love Jazzercise! Can I become an instructor?
